Anonymous User vs. Registered User

Anonymous users are not required to login to GeoSask to use some of its key functions. This group of users can access the public functions of GeoSask including: keyword search, metadata search, view results, view metadata records and view and create maps.

Registered users have access to the same functions as the anonymous user and, in addition, they can save maps and searches, download data and manage their user profile. Registered users need to set up an account before they can use the additional functionality.

After you have registered with GeoSask, you get access to the following functions:
  • Manage my Profile
  • Change Password
  • Manage my Searches
  • Manage my Maps
  • Download Spatial Data
NOTE: All users of GeoSask are subject to the Terms and Conditions of use. Click on the 'Legal' link on the bottom of the GeoSask pages to review at any time.

Why Create an Account?

Before you can save maps, searches, download preferences, publish metadata (with publisher account access) or download data, you must create and log into a user account. Saving maps or download preferences allows you to easily return to a view of the map or quickly load specific services and layers that meet your needs, without having to start over every time you want to use the GeoSask Map Viewer or Download Centre.
