The legislation governing births registered with Saskatchewan Vital
Statistics allows Vital Statistics to publish a genealogical index of
those births that occurred more than 100 years ago.
Over the years, the data collected on birth registration forms has
changed. The older records have less information available and the
database contains limited information. For example, many of the birth
records do not contain the father's name.
Choosing a specific place of birth will further limit your search. If
you are unsure of the place in Saskatchewan where the person was born,
leaving the item blank will expand the search and return more information.
In some cases, the official document may have been illegible or the
information necessary for the index was not provided. For all information
collected at the time of registration, a photocopy of the record will have
to be ordered.
If you wish to purchase photocopies of any of the records you located,
simply add them to your Application Form. No refunds or replacement of
documents will be given for copies of the records issued based on your
search. When your selection is complete, print the Application Form, fill
in the address and fee information and mail or fax it to Vital Statistics.
Faxed requests will be accepted only if the payment method is by credit
card and the required authorizing signature is included. |
