Affidavit for Reduced Fee Transaction - Instructions

Customers are required to submit affidavits to establish the transaction as one that qualifies for the reduced fees. This ensures that the appropriate fee is charged for the transaction.

Use the Affidavit for Reduced Fee Transaction when one or more owners will remain the same before and after the transfer/transform.

This reduction to the fees from 0.3% of title value to 0.1% of title value applies to only the following specific transactions in the Land Registry:
  • The first instance of raising title from surface to condominium status;
  • Title and parcel consolidations and subdivisions where one owner remains the same before and after the transaction; and
  • Adding or removing a joint tenant from title, where one joint tenant remains the same before and after the transaction.
