Interest Fees - Help

Interest Registration

A fee is charged every time an interest is registered against a title, abstract, interest or share. The amount charged varies depending on what type of interest you are registering.

For example, mortgages have a separate fee for up to 4 titles, interests or shares affected, plus an additional fee for each additional title, interest or share affected.
Tax Liens, Postponements, and Public Utility Easements have a reduced fee per title, abstract, interest or share affected.
All other interests are charged at a flat fee for each title, abstract, interest or share affected.

INTEREST AMENDMENT

A fee is charged to amend interests. A reduced fee is charged to amend a Tax Lien, Postponement, or Public Utility Easement. Unique to Interest Amendments, a fee is charged for each interest register affected and a separate fee is charged for each additional title, abstract, interest, or share affected.
To view current fees, please see Land Titles Fees.

INTEREST ASSIGNMENT

A fee is charged to assign an interest. Unique to Interest Assignments, the fee is charged at the interest register level (instead of per title, abstract, interest or share affected).  A reduced fee applies for the assignment of Tax Liens, Postponements, and Public Utility Easements.

INTEREST DISCHARGE

There is currently no charge to discharge an interest.
