Register a Limited Partnership

In order to register a limited partnership with the Corporate Registry you will need to know your:

  • Reserved business name (reservation number).
  • Declarations:
    • Statutory declarations.
    • Limited partnership agreement.
    • NOTE: If you have difficulty with creating a statutory declaration or a limited partnership agreement, you can refer to section 16 (e-m) of the Business Name Registration Act or seek legal guidance. 
  • Location of your business (this is the physical address, P.O. box numbers are not accepted).
  • Your mailing address.
  • Your general partners physical and mailing address and effective date (this is the date the partnership started)
  • The applicants’ full name, address including postal code and email address.
  • Power of Attorney - If the owner is an individual who does not reside in Saskatchewan, the owner must appoint a power of attorney. If registering your business online, the power of attorney fields for you to complete will be displayed in the Corporate Registry application.

Filing your Limited Partnership Registration:

  • Log in to the Corporate Registry application.
    • Select ‘file’.
  • Under the heading ‘reserve a name or create a company' click on ‘business names’ and select the ‘registration’ option.
    • If your business name has expired/been cancelled select ‘yes’ and enter your entity number.
    • If you are registering a new business name select the ‘no’ radio button and enter in your business name reservation number. (This number can be found in your 'my activity' page). Click ‘continue’.
  • Complete the application and submit.
    • You will be required to attach a .PDF copy of your statutory declarations and limited partnership agreement. Please seek legal advice if you are unsure of what to attach, as ISC does not provide forms for the limited partnership agreement.
    • The summary screen within the application will provide an overview of your registration.
