Manual Search and/or Certification - Instructions

Section A – Applicant Information

Please complete Applicant Information section filling in:
  • Client Name (Last, First are mandatory),
  • Phone number including area code (mandatory),
  • Client Reference Number (optional),
  • Address (mandatory if Method of Delivery is Mail)
    Note: Applicant Information is for the person making the search request and not the person whose title or interest you are trying to search.

Section B – Method of Delivery

Select the Method of delivery box for either mail or fax.
  • Mail
  • Fax (if selected, please provide fax number including area code)
Note: Copies of Plans of Survey cannot be faxed.

Section C – Method of Payment

Complete one of the Method of payment options.
  • If attaching a cheque to your application, please select the Cheque box and enter amount in the Amount box. ISC does not accept foreign currency in the form of cash, cheque or money order.
  • If you already have an ISC account, please enter Client Number, Account Number and the Account Password (if applicable).

Note: Sufficient funds must be available at the time of processing.

Section D – Search Request Information

Please mark in the # of Copies box how many copies of the document are requested.

Please mark in the Search Code box, the appropriate search code for your request.  Choose from Uncert, Cert1, Cert2, Cert3 or PCert.

Complete the Description field by entering a description of the item to be searched (limit of 5 items).
Examples of the kind of information that can be provided are as follows:
  • Legal Land Description (advise if mineral and/or surface title – if both, enclose the proper amount for two title charges)
  • Title Number
  • Certificate of Title or Instrument Number
  • Interest Register or Interest Number
  • Grant Legal Land Descriptions or Grantee name
  • Plan number
    Note: You will be notified if ISC cannot conduct the search based on the information you provided.
Please note that requests for more than 5 searches for titles, interests, etc. must be made using our Bulk Data Request process.  Please contact us for more information.

Certified and Uncertified Copies of Documents

You may request copies of Land Registry and Judgment Registry documents to be certified or uncertified using this form.  Copies of Land Registry and Judgment Registry documents are deemed ‘certified’ by printing on watermarked paper with no ink stamp or by printing on non-watermarked paper with ink stamp.

Watermarked paper is only available for Land Registry and Judgment Registry documents printed on Letter-size (8.5” x 11”) paper.

You may request copies of Plans of Survey to be certified using this form.  Copies of Plans of Survey are deemed ‘certified’ by printing on non-watermarked paper with ink stamp.

Watermarked paper is not available for Plans of Survey or for Land Grants printed on paper other than Letter-size.  For certification of Land Grants printed on larger than Letter-size paper, please use the Request for Copy of Original Land Grant form.

Request certified or uncertified copies of the following Land Registry documents, using this form:
  • Title Detail
  • Pre-Conversion Title
  • Interest Register Attachment
  • Application
  • Application Attachment
  • Lock Attachment
  • Pre-Conversion Instrument
  • Grant (on Letter-size paper only)

Request certified or uncertified copies of the following Judgment Registry documents, using this form:
  • Judgment Registry Search

Request certified copies of the following Land Surveys documents, using this form:
  • Plan of Survey

For certified and uncertified copies, the Search Fee and Output Fee both apply.  Search and Output fees vary depending on the type of document that you order.  Please see table below for applicable fees and helpful scenarios.
