Registrar's Warning (Transfer Permitted)

This lock is commonly used to indicate a depth reference different from the default of "below" mean sea level, or specifics as to mineral commodities that are not included in mineral balance.

This lock is also used when a problem exists with the parcel alignment because of subdivision occurred after certain commodities were reserved. For example, if you have coal and petroleum title pointing to a parcel referencing the quarter section, and the balance title pointing to a lot-block-plan, the title print for the lot-block-plan may require clarification because it will indicate all mines and minerals (due to the difference in the land description).

However, because the system does not recognize that the lot-block-plan parcel occupies the same space as a portion of the quarter section, the only way to make it evident that the lot-block-plan is not for all mines and minerals is by using this lock.

For example "Mineral balance does not include Coal" or "Depth reference" on converted title no. 00MJ123456 is 250 feet ABOVE mean sea level.

This lock is registered at the title level and will appear on a title print.

Functionality of the Lock

This is a Notice Lock Type and will not prohibit any transactions.

Removal of a Registrar's Lock

This lock will be removed when the circumstances requiring the notice on the title no longer exists. For example, if coal and balance titles point to the same parcels as a result of a Registrar’s correction to align the parcels, then the balance title will read properly as "all mines and minerals except coal."
