Locks

Pursuant to Section 99(1)(b) of The Land Titles Act, 2000, the Registrar of Titles may "lock" a title or interest.  Numerous locks have been developed to ensure the functionality of each lock is tailored to the specific circumstances requiring the protection of a lock.

There are two main lock types:

Locks can be placed at the time of conversion, following the registration of a packet, or when circumstances that warrant the placement of a lock are brought to the attention of the Registrar.
