Extra-Provincial Corporate Documents

Situation

ISC may receive extra-provincial corporate documents. Because an extra-provincial corporation may have the same name as a Saskatchewan corporation, ISC will generally not accept extra-provincial corporate documents for authorization purposes.

Solution

There are two exceptions where ISC may accept extra-provincial corporate documents:

  1. Extra-provincial documents may be accepted in an application to change the name of a corporation. In this circumstance, ISC will accept a certificate issued by an authority in another jurisdiction that is the equivalent of the Corporate Registry.
  2. ISC may accept extra-provincial corporate documents for a discharge.
