New West Partnership

The New West Partnership Trade Agreement enables business corporations, limited partnerships, limited liability partnerships and co-operatives from Saskatchewan wanting to register in Alberta and British Columbia must do so through via Saskatchewan. This may be done through the Corporate Registry.

Alberta and British Columbia business corporations, limited partnerships, limited liability partnerships and co-operatives wishing to register in Saskatchewan must do so through their home jurisdiction.

Registering a Saskatchewan Business in British Columbia or Alberta

Saskatchewan business corporations may be registered in Alberta or British Columbia via the Corporate Registry application.

The other business types included in New West Partnership must be registered via paper forms:
  • Limited Partnerships
  • Limited Liability Partnerships
  • Co-operatives

Other Extra Provincial Corporations

Extra provincial businesses not included in the NWP trade agreement may register any entity type via the Corporate Registry using the same process as a local business. When completing the registration or name reservation online these extra provincial businesses must select the ‘extra-provincial registration’ option when registering. Extra-provincial businesses must have a power of attorney in Saskatchewan.

Note: If you are an extra-provincial numbered corporation, not included in the New West Partnership, you are not required to conduct a name reservation as part of your extra-provincial registration.
