Document Storage Library (DSL)

The Document Storage Library (DSL) is a free online application that helps simplify the process of submitting Land Registry packets to ISC. It stores Financial Institutions’ standard documents such as standard mortgages and leases so that you can simply reference a standard document by its DSL number in your interest registration and interest amendment applications instead of being required to attach the full standard document each time you submit a packet.

 

How does it work?

The Document Storage Library centrally stores standard documents so that you don’t have to re-submit the same information from one application to the next. These standard documents are typically referenced as part of the creation of individual transactions and form part of the transaction. These documents are used to facilitate the registration of interests in the Land Registry.  

Financial Institutions such as banks and credit unions will start by filing their standard mortgage and lease terms into the Document Storage Library. These standard documents will then receive a specific DSL number to later be referenced. For example, banks can issue mortgage instructions using the DSL number. This number would then be referenced as part of the registration of interests in the Land Registry - saving time, money, paper and effort. All of this will help make your packet submission process much more efficient.
