Land Registry Fee Mitigation Policy - General

The Land Registry Fee Mitigation Policy complies with legislation and allows customers the opportunity to request mitigation to fees in certain situations.  For example, some Land Titles Registry transactions may qualify for fee mitigation such as adding or removing an owner to or from a title, certain parcel consolidations and subdivisions, and condominium first raise of title.  Fee mitigation generally only applies when at least one owner remains the same before and after the transaction.

For transactions where fee mitigation may apply, the Affidavit for Reduced Fees must be included in the packet as an authorization.  If the Affidavit for Reduced Fees is not included in the packet and the packet is processed, the submitting party has 90 calendar days from the date of the original transaction to request fee mitigation.

Our fee mitigation policies generally do not apply to:

  • Instances where the wrong Interest Holder was provided in a packet
  • Instances where the wrong Mortgage Values was provided in a packet
  • Instances where the same name but wrong Client Number was provided in a packet
  • Instances where a submitted Interest packet missed a title/parcel or Interest
